In the latest in a series of free KUBO activities, we’ve come up with some really nice ideas for your younger students. This pack is a great example of how you can teach so much more than just computer science through coding.
This week’s Inspirational Activity is called Story Time! KUBO is attending a costume party and wants to dress up. The pack includes a new KUBO cut-out outfit for you to download and use in the classroom. It includes a list of activity ideas and cross-curricular targets that you can achieve. The activities are suitable for students from about 4 to 8 years.
Students design and dress up KUBO as their favorite storybook character – for example Robin Hood.

The students learn how to create a step-by-step route for KUBO to complete a task – like bringing KUBO and his friends from the forest to the party. Other characters from other stories could attend the party as well.
KUBO expert and STEAM* enthusiast, Rikke Paaskesen, explains:
“Some students like to cultivate, to draw, to create, and to develop elements of a story. Others like to practice math, directions, and calculations while navigating or controlling a device. The KUBO Story Time activities allow for both of these approaches for a really fun STEAM program of learning.”
